The Albemarle-Chowan Watershed Roundtable is working with a consultant to develop a Living In Your Watershed booklet for the Chowan Watershed. The booklet will be distributed to all elementary schools within the Virginia Chowan Watershed. The booklet will be an education resource for teachers to educate students on watersheds, natural resources, and the environment. The booklet will be developed by Bowman Environmental Services, whom have developed seven of these booklets for localities and organizations throughout Virginia for youth since 2004. The booklet is an illustrated, full color 20-page booklet that includes a map of local watersheds. There are also sections in the book that define a watershed, help you know your watershed address, kinds of pollution and things you can do to improve water quality. This project should be completed by the spring of 2011.
